Video Portraits/Biographies/Autobiographies: Video compositions focusing on either on an individual human or animal subject (a person living on the street, a nurse, a centenarian, twins, a race horse) or on a group of such subjects. Often video portraits focus on people whose lives have not been documented whom many would consider unimportant. These segments attempt to convey some sense of the subject’s life or personality through the words and sounds they make. If the composition focuses on a human subject, an author/sound designer generally identifies a series of questions to ask. But some authors/sound designers also follow their subjects around and record their interactions with others and the world.
